The economic differences between Hong Kong and the 13 Colonies was that there were acts to control the 13 Colonies but no acts to control Hong Kong. The trading in Hong Kong was very prosperous but the trading in the 13 Colonies was not that prosperous.
In political, Hong Kong had no revolution, no war and no constitution while the 13 Colonies had. There were also some similarities in political. There weren't absolutism but had rule of law.

Perhaps you need to brush up on your history - the 13 Colonies had no constitution; hence, they were colonies and not a country!
